Beyond the stairs up above lie a quiet sanctuary within the rooms, each tailored to the personality of the individual family member. The little ones had functional yet fun elements that optimised the space while giving it a creative flair. The main bedroom is bathed in a calm and tranquil atmosphere, making it a great place to relax after a long day. Carved within the walls is a galley-style walk-in wardrobe, with an entrance open to create a seamless blend between the bedroom and closet.
DESIGNER'S PERSPECTIVE
Classy contemporary is about open and clutter-free spaces, with clean geometric lines for some personality to the space. As a family of four, the owners wanted a space that maximised their space and convenience, with little maintenance.
With simple creative solutions, we brought their vision to life. Hidden below the staircase are slide-out doors with tiered storage levels, giving the area some much-needed storage space to maximise the area while blending in with the aesthetics. There was also plenty of built-in carpentry done as additional storage solutions within the rooms, living area, and balcony.
We also decided to add some contrast to the theme of the area with a darker-toned kitchen, with a timeless combination of white and black, and patterned cabinetry to enhance the contemporary feel of the design. Set in an L shape to allow for ease of movement, the area also includes plenty of proper storage for a mess-free workstation.
