WARM MINIMALISM AT ITS FINEST
Property Type: 4-Room HDB
Location: 107B Bidadari
Property Size: 93 sqm
Characterised by clean lines and monochromatic colours, this interior embraces the minimalistic style within all corners of the home. A marriage of neutral wooden tones with white walls plays well with the abundance of natural light carrying in within the space, making it sagaciously open and bright. The sleek design of the foyer cabinet automatically catches eyes upon entering the home. Designed to maximise storage, the soft curve of the cupboard subtly redefines the space as it adds a gentle touch of grandeur to the overall aesthetics.
The heart of this home clearly centres around the combined dining room and kitchen. The open concept with an extended breakfast table works best for those looking for practical ways to extend the space, yet adds an air of simplistic elegance to the area. Multifunctional and highly efficient, it immaculately brings the home together.
DESIGNER'S PERSPECTIVE
The minimalist approach focuses on the essentials: lighting, form, and accent materials to create a space that is cosy, spacious and pleasing to the eye. There was a lot of built-in carpentry necessary, from the cabinets in the foyer to the living room, kitchen and even the bedroom. This allowed us to craft pieces that blended seamlessly into the settings of the home while opening up the space and making it clutter-free.
The house had a lot of natural light for us to play with to carve the cosy ambience the owners were looking for. The textures and colours used to match this well and deepen the warmth of the area. To match the airiness and unrestricted flow of space, we made use of glass panels for the private study room. This instantly makes the room look effortlessly trendy while making it appear visually lighter and more connected to the rest of the house.
