Teetering on the precipice between style and sensibilities, the entire living space is created with a focus on clean lines with an earthy palette, while the splashes of smokey grey accent add a rustic charm. Rich, warm lights add a bright feel to the space, tying the theme together.
We’ve also added a touch of transitional innovation with the distinctive grey flooring in the kitchen—this breaks away from the monotony of the polished white tiles as it grounds the different patterns and textures in the room and brings them together.
The medley of these two themes boasts a balance while lending warmth and a relaxed feel to the home.
DESIGNER'S PERSPECTIVE
The directions for this design were straightforward: keep things simple, easy to maintain, and provide ample storage. The owners also wanted something that was timeless and classic.
We suggested a mixture of earthy colours to ground the house and set the tone for the design. Combined with the different wood textures, this helped to give a soothing and comfortable environment that creates a cosy home for the family.
Strategic lighting was the key to adding a modern and luxurious balance to the home. It was especially essential in bringing out the textures of the darker colours while brightening up the rest of the area. As a result, this creates an elegant sanctuary, akin to the feel of a high-end hotel.
Wherever possible, we also included built-in cabinetry, such as near the entrance of the home for shoe storage and decorative items, in the kitchen, and wardrobes for extra clothing storage to stay true to the priorities of the owners.
